🧶 Toebean Attack! — A Cozy Cat-Themed Arcade Shooter

Toebean Attack! is my very first game made in GameMaker, and it became a cute little arcade-style shooter starring a floating cosmic cat paw. Blast incoming yarn-balls from space, rack up the highest score you can, and try to keep your HP from hitting zero!

This project was a huge learning experience for me — from collisions and particle effects to UI menus, sound, and controller support. My goal was to create something fun, charming, and playable from start to finish, and I hope it brings you as much joy as I had making it.

🎮 Features

• A cosmic cat paw you can steer through space (I drew the pixel art in Aesprite!)

• Big yarnballs that split into smaller moon-yarnballs (At least they're supposed to lol XD )

• Laser-style cat attacks

• Hand-drawn pixel art, with a galaxy style background

• Score tracking & simple leaderboard

• Keyboard support (Use arrows to move and spacebar to send forth your mice minions!)

• An About page with full credits

• Satisfying explosions (because yarn deserves drama)

📝 Jam Submission Note

This game isn’t exactly on-theme for the Imaginary Game Mini Jam – November 2025, but this time I really needed to go a little off-script and make something that refreshed my game dev spirit. Toebean Attack! became a fun creative reset for me, and I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed building it.  It was created in a 13 hour day XD my brain is fried!
